MS Word Application Forms
Here you will find application forms for grants. Each Word document
below is a MS Word "Form" document where you may edit the defined
fields. Use your TAB key to move between entry areas (shown as grey
boxes). Save your form as a meaningful named file ("Edge_of_Excellence_Proposal.doc"),
keeping a copy for your own records. Print and PONY all the required the
paper copies to the Education Foundation.
All proposal forms can be filled in on your computer. Be concise
explaining your proposal in the allowed spaces. Do NOT say "see
attached." No extra pages for the proposals will be accepted. |

• 2008-2009 Building Blocks For Success Grants
The Deadline to submit Building Blocks for Success grant proposals is
Thursday, August 21, 2008.
Building Blocks for Success Grants award up to $1200 for startup in the
first semester.
Building Blocks for Success grants are currently made possible through
funding awarded to the Education Foundation through the generosity of
the William G. Selby and Marie Selby Foundation, the Bank of America
Client Foundation, and the Julius
Brandenburg Legacy Fund. Entering its 11th season, Building Blocks for
Success is open to educators employed in all the public, charter and
special schools that comprise the Sarasota County School District.
PLEASE NOTE: Building Blocks for Success grants for professional and/or
leadership development is not a specific category choice this cycle.

Edge of Excellence Scoring Rubric
(for reference)
Edge of Excellence Classroom Grants Award up to $500 for use in
the second semester. A teacher may receive funding for up to four
project proposals per year.
Entering its 19th season, Edge of Excellence Classroom grant program is
open to educators employed in all the public, charter and special
schools that comprise the Sarasota County School District.
Individuals, corporations, foundations and civic organizations sponsor
Edge of Excellence grants named for them or in honor of a special
person. An awards ceremony and reception is held uniting grant sponsors
with recipients
